LibreLogo: contributing to Wikipedia

LibreLogo, the simplified vector graphics API of LibreOffice 4 has been extended to save cropped and valid SVG images. The presentation shows the results of the contribution to Wikipedia, recent and future improvements in LibreOffice and Wikimedia Commons.

Details of the Talk

Turtle vector graphics in LibreOffice was introduced in Berlin, 2012 (http://conference.libreoffice.org/talks/content/sessions/020/files/librelogo.pdf). Recent small improvements are not only for children and LibreOffice users, but for free culture, popularizing the unique graphical capabilities of LibreOffice within Wikipedia contributors involved in SVG transition project (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Transition_to_SVG). First results of the new cropped SVG saving and W3C validation support are fifty printing quality SVG images in Wikimedia Commons tagged with the category “Created with LibreOffice”: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Created_with_LibreOffice, and with free LibreLogo source code.
